Your library. Your choice.
Glint helps you review photos and videos in your system Photos library. This policy explains what the app handles, what stays on your device, and what happens when you choose a system service.
A simple, free app
All app features are free. Glint has no accounts, subscriptions, in-app purchases, advertising, or analytics SDKs. It does not track you across apps or websites.
Photos and their details
Glint uses Apple's PhotoKit to access only the photos and videos you authorize. It reads previews and available details such as dates, dimensions, file sizes, camera information, and location coordinates already stored with an item. It does not use your device's live location to track you.
The app processes your library choices on your device and does not upload your photos, videos, or their metadata to a developer server. iCloud Photos may download requested media through Apple's system services; the app is not a separate photo backup or cloud service.
What is saved on your device
Glint saves identifiers for queued and kept items, cleanup dates and counts, estimated file-size totals, and preferences such as group size and autoplay. These records let the app restore your queue, show your cleanup history, and remember your choices.
The app may create a temporary local export when you choose to share. Glint does not operate a server copy of your library or cleanup records. Deleting the app removes this installation's local app data; merely offloading the app or revoking Photos access is different from deleting its data.
Deletion and permission
Swiping left queues an item; it does not delete that item from Photos. Deletion occurs only after you review and confirm, using the system Photos service.
Deleted photos and videos normally remain in Recently Deleted for 30 days. If you use iCloud Photos, deletions can sync to your other devices. Glint's file-size estimates do not guarantee an immediate increase in available storage.
You can reduce or revoke Photos access in system Settings. Revoking permission prevents further access; it does not delete your system photo library, remove previously saved app records, or undo deletions you already confirmed.
Maps and sharing are your actions
Glint opens Apple Maps for an item's existing coordinates only when you choose that action. It does not automatically request map images while you inspect an item.
Sharing opens the system share sheet. You choose the destination and whether to send the exported item. The app uses the current edited version when available; the shared file may include existing metadata. The destination app or service handles the data you choose to share under its own practices.
When you contact support
Support is provided through the public GitHub issue tracker linked below. If you open an issue, GitHub and visitors to that public repository can see your GitHub account name, message, and attachments. The app does not automatically send diagnostic reports or your photo library.
Do not post photos, videos, precise locations, or other sensitive information. You can edit or close your issue using GitHub's controls. GitHub handles the information under its own terms and privacy statement; Glint does not promise a fixed response deadline.
Updates and questions
The date on this page identifies this version of the policy. If the app's data handling changes, this page should be updated to reflect those changes. For questions about the app or support correspondence, use the operator and contact details below.
