Common questions
TVScope shows your Apple TV's screen and sound live on iPhone, iPad or Mac, over your own Wi‑Fi. The two devices talk to each other directly, so most problems come from the network between them.
What do I need?
- An Apple TV with AirPlay turned on (Settings › AirPlay and HomeKit).
- Your iPhone, iPad or Mac on the same home network as the Apple TV.
- Local Network access allowed for TVScope.
How do I connect the first time?
Open TVScope, choose your Apple TV and tap Show Screen. TVScope shows a 4-digit code; enter it on the Apple TV with the Siri Remote. Pairing happens once. With Auto Connect on, TVScope reopens the last device when you launch it. The Remote pairs separately: the first time you open it, the Apple TV shows a code to type in TVScope.
I can see the Apple TV, but it will not connect
Finding a device and connecting to it are separate steps. Check that you are not on a guest network, a hotspot or an isolated VLAN, and that the router does not use client (AP) isolation. Turn off VPN, TUN or "enhanced" modes in proxy apps such as Clash, Shadowrocket, Surge or Stash, then try again. A plain system proxy is usually fine. No route to host means the connection never reached the Apple TV.
Where is the Local Network setting?
iPhone and iPad: Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network › TVScope. Mac: System Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network › TVScope. After you change it, quit TVScope and open it again.
The picture stops when I leave the app
iOS pauses network listening in the background and when the screen locks. Keep TVScope in the foreground while you capture, and turn off Low Power Mode while you test.
Mac: the Apple TV never answers
The Apple TV connects back to your Mac. In System Settings › Network › Firewall › Options, allow incoming connections for TVScope. Tools such as Little Snitch or LuLu can also block it. If the Mac uses Wi‑Fi and Ethernet at the same time, try one of them only.
Where are my screenshots and recordings?
In TVScope's Library. They go to Photos only when you turn on Save to Photos or save an item yourself.
